Aviation Institute of Maintenance partners with Norfolk Recreation, Parks and Open Space to present the community’s youth with a STEM focused, virtual tour of AIM’s new 100,000 sq. ft, Norfolk campus.

On August 3rd, Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) partnered with City of Norfolk’s Recreation, Parks and Open Space (RPOS) to create a virtual tour for the community’s youth in place of traditional in-person visitation. Last year, AIM provided the City of Norfolk Recreation Centers with resources for summer camp participants that centered around aviation and STEM. AIM and RPOS came up with the virtual tour idea amidst brainstorming on ways to keep youth entertained and educated from home.

Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) is a network of aviation maintenance schools with campuses coast-to-coast in the United States. AIM students are trained to meet the increasing global demand of commercial, cargo, corporate and private aviation employers.  Boeing’s projects a worldwide demand of 769,000 aviation maintenance personnel through 2038, and the occupation has been deemed an essential career during these uncertain times. To show spectators a snapshot of AIM’s Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) training, the campus’ Director of Education, Tim Murray, guided Norfolk Recreation, Parks and Open Space’s Jacqui Johnson on a tour around the campus.
