Since Thanksgiving was last week, we here at Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Atlanta didn’t do a lot of work on the WWI Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter. But we are back to work on the aircraft this week. This week it is aileron assembly week. All the parts of the ailerons are complete and now it’s time to assemble. We will assemble all four ailerons in the aviation school hangar and then fit the metal trailing edges. As usual, we had to improvise a little, but the assembly of the first aileron came out great. Now, there only three more to go.
